TDMshopcontrol –
increasing productivity by continous tool use
TDMshopcontrol is a software module that supervises
the circulation of all tools on the shop floor and
integrates the following: 1) planning of required
tools, 2) assembly of required tools, 3) presetting,
4) tool use at the machine, and 5) disassembly of
tools in the tool room.

Features of TDMshopcontrol
| |
Creation and management of production orders.
Creating of balance sheets for tool needs in relation to
orders, machines and tool inventories.
| |
Generation of
work orders for the tool preparation room
Net availability check against actual inventory (requires
the TDM
Crib Module)
Standard Interfaces to presetting systems
(current values
are re-transferred to the database)

Calculation of tool needs:
Shopcontrol calculates overall tool requirements for
every production order based on batch sizes, tool
lifetimes, and machining times. |
Organized tool loading and unloading:
Shopcontrol schedules machine loading and unloading
sequences according to the importance and/or succession
of production operations. |
| |
Comparative tool assembly results:
Shopcontrol V4 can compare the results of different tool
assembly procedures. This reduces setup times and
optimizes machine utilization.
Benefits: |
| |
Minimization of tool movements by automatic
creation of
difference lists, load lists and unload lists
Intefaces with presetting systems and machines
for optimized data transfer
Increasing profitability of tools resulting from:
| |
Reliable tool requirements planning
