ERP integration

Optimize your procurement processes with ERP integration from TDM Systems.

TDM's ERP interface forwards purchase requisitions for tools and equipment directly to existing ERP systems and helps you streamline your procurement processes.

ERP integration brings more efficiency

TDM optimizes production equipment logistics at production level and can ensure seamless procurement processes using standardized interfaces to ERP systems. TDM's ERP integration compares items' master data and items' supplier information and forwards purchase requisitions for tools and equipment based on minimum stock levels directly to the ERP system. This enables equipment to be ordered in good time and enables affordable procurement management.

In addition, the interface can be used not only to handle ordering processes for tools and equipment, but can also be used to cover resharpening or calibration work for inspection equipment at external service providers. This works if TDM controls the related working processes.

TDM/ERP integration covers all requirements

If the ERP system has stock management and minimum stock levels are maintained there, usage and new entries can also be synchronized with the ERP system via the interface.

An ERP connection also supports processes in production planning: Tool management receives the production orders planned for a certain period directly, thanks to the ERP interface. On this basis, TDM ensures that the tools are made available at the machines in an order-based and timely manner. This includes generating picking and assembly orders for the tool dispensing and preparation area.

Create efficient workflows with ERP integration

The following communication scenarios are part of the interface between an ERP system and TDM:

  • Comparing master data for tool items and production equipment
  • Purchase requisitions for tools that are subject to regular use, if the minimum stock level is reached
  • Purchase requisitions for production equipment and goods, which must be procured in a targeted manner
  • Goods received
  • New entries and usage in case the ERP system has stock management
  • Inventory process for stock reconciliation

The cost benefits are obvious

  • The integration reduces the tooling costs because only what is actually needed in production is procured.
  • You save costs through consumption-oriented and forward-looking order management
  • It creates a basis for recording and thus optimizing tool usage

TDM/SAP interface example

When using both systems in their areas of application such as production (TDM), planning (SAP) and procurement (SAP), the user can concentrate on the respective area's system.

The standard integration between TDM and SAP consists of a total of four workflows (scenarios). This includes

  1. Comparing material master data
  2. Crib logistics with goods movements such as crib removals
  3. Procurement process with IPRM, orders and goods received
  4. Inventory process for stock reconciliation

Comparing material master data can take place in three variants:

  • Variant 1: TDM sends material master data to SAP
  • Variant 2: SAP sends the material master data to TDM
  • Variant 3: SAP is the leading system for creating master data in TDM
